La Binerie
About This Spot
Stepping into La Binerie is like slipping into a quiet moment tucked away from the rush. This cozy café, nestled along Quebec’s Route 105, carries a humble warmth that immediately puts you at ease. Time seems to slow down here, where the hum of friendly conversations and the comforting scent of home-cooked flavors weave together into an unspoken invitation to linger a little longer.
The atmosphere feels wonderfully unpretentious, a place where locals and travelers alike find themselves returning year after year—not just for a meal, but for the feeling of connection that this unassuming spot quietly nurtures. It’s the kind of café where the pace is patient, where the kitchen methodically tends to its sand-baked beans, preserving a culinary tradition that speaks to a deeply rooted heritage and a singular way of savoring simple, honest food.
There’s a genuine sense of history in every serving, and the steam rising from a fresh pot carries stories of enduring dedication and shared moments across decades. The heart of La Binerie beats in the gentle rituals of daily life here—the careful preparation of their famed hot beans, a dish that draws people from nearby towns and beyond, each visit reinforcing an enduring bond between place, food, and community.
Visiting La Binerie feels less like grabbing a quick bite and more like stepping into a living tradition. It’s a reminder that sometimes the truest flavors come from time, care, and a quiet corner where simple ingredients meet warm hospitality. Whether it’s a brief stop or a journey made especially for these celebrated beans, the experience leaves a subtle but lasting impression—one of comfort, patience, and the kind of welcome that feels like coming home.

I love the sand-baked beans. You can't get these anywhere else. I drive 3 hours just to get to La Binerie.

Was so glad to have read other recommendation reviews as I just visited this little gem and love their beans!! While the gas range wasn't functional at the time of my visit (I'm sure it won't be long before it's fixed!!), we weren't able to have hamburgers. We got hotdogs instead and as an apology for the non functioning stove, we were given a plate of beans to enjoy. Everything was yummy!! I bought a container of beans to bring back to Ontario!! Very nice people who managed us well in English.... Thank you!!

Delicious beans! This is a lovely family business. Definitely will get this on the way back. I didn't speak French so I had a hard time ordering but it worked out. You can order in and eat on a patio with a roof. Lots of baked goods like cookies and donuts inside
